Built for integration, designed for reliability

Custom operating system
built for machines

SftOS is a purpose-built Linux distribution for our gateway hardware, with the packages you need and nothing you don't.

  • Speaks every bus on the machine

CAN, RS232, RS485, Modbus and Ethernet, ready to wire into the control system you already have.

  • Verified OTA updates

Ship new software to machines in the field over the air, with every update verified before it is applied.

  • Low-power design with smart wake-up

The gateway sleeps with the machine and wakes on the events that matter, so it will not drain the battery.

Powerful gateway computing for the field

Our gateways build on the Owasys owa5X, a rugged Linux computer made for machines that work where the weather, the dust and the vibration are part of the job.

SFT gateway computer
  • Quad-core Linux at the edge

A 64-bit i.MX8M Plus quad A53 at 1.6 GHz with an NPU on board, running sftOS for edge computing.

  • Up to 4 CAN-FD interfaces

Plus RS232 and RS485 serial, Ethernet, 12 configurable digital I/O and 4 analog inputs.

  • Global LTE with 3G and 2G fallback

Cat 4 cellular that works worldwide, so the same gateway ships to every market.

  • Built to survive the machine

IP6K9K against dust and high-pressure steam, 9 to 36 V input with battery backup, secure boot and TPM 2.0.

Multi-GNSS positioning

GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou received at once, tracking on 72 channels to 2.5 m CEP.

WiFi and Bluetooth

802.11ac WiFi and dual-mode Bluetooth 5.2 for local links on site and in the workshop.

Motion sensing

A programmable 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, with dead reckoning available.

Memory to work with

2 GB LPDDR4 expandable to 4 GB, 8 GB eMMC up to 32 GB, plus a microSD slot.
